Distinguished research fellows at the Max Weber Forum for South Asian Studies, Delhi (MWF), are selected from candidates with an established track record of outstanding contributions to the field of South Asian Studies, particularly in the disciplines of history, art history, anthropology, sociology, political science, Indology, human geography, development studies, or related fields.
The programme is intended to raise international awareness of the MWF research agenda and work, and to provide substantial opportunities for future research collaboration with important scholars in the field of South Asian Studies. For this purpose, MWF Delhi selects two distinguished research fellows each year. On acceptance of the fellowship award, distinguished research fellows are appointed for a period not extending beyond five years. The programme started in January 2023.
